If you have never been to our retail location, we are happy you have found this web page!  Phishy Business is Central Ohio’s largest all-saltwater store.  You will find that not only is our store extremely clean, but carries the best selection of healthy corals and fish you will find anywhere.  We are not like a chain pet store that carries cats and dogs, reptiles, and freshwater fish.  We are strictly specialized in saltwater animals and equipment.  From small Clownfish to large Angelfish, or coral fragments to show-size wild corals, we have it.  If you are looking for rare hard-to-find specimens, Phishy Business is the place to find them!  Our aquariums are packed with healthy corals and fish every day.  You will not be disappointed making a trip to central Ohio’s largest all-saltwater store.

You will always feel welcome at our store.  Our staff is here to help you learn more about this spectacular hobby.  Well trained and educated in the art of Reef Keeping, the Phishy Business team eagerly awaits the opportunity to work with you.  The atmosphere at our store is comfortable and friendly.  No question is too basic or complex for our team.  Our employees pride themselves on their ethics and customer service is their top priority.  We have no desire to send a fish or coral to an inappropriate home just to make a quick dollar. Why we understand better than most!

At most chain aquarium stores, you will deal with employees with little, to no hands-on experience. Not at Phishy Business!  All of our staff maintains personal aquariums.  Our senior staff members have spent time around the world out on the reefs snorkeling and/or diving, observing the natural habits of the animals we love and admire to keep.  Experiences like these facilitate the understanding needed to educate the hobbyist in the art of Reef Keeping.  We have logged hundreds of hours under the water, out on the reefs learning and documenting the conditions to properly care for these animals.   For example, how many of us in the hobby knew about the infestation of Lion Fish in the Caribbean in 2007?  Well, we did - - observing first hand these non-indigenous invasive fish sited in the Bahamas. Now, flash forward to 2009 - - now we see the migration of the Lion Fish to the Florida Keys.  Understanding what belongs in your aquariums and what does not is just one of the ingredients to successful Reef Keeping.

Livestock selection at the store

When you make the trip to our store,  you should expect to spend a good amount of time browsing over the one thousand pieces of coral, hundreds of fish, and countless numbers of invertebrates. That is no exaggeration; we have thousands of gallons of aquariums stocked with an enormous amount of healthy animals.  If you are looking for coral fragments from rare to common items- we will most likely have it.  We maintain numerous maricultured and in-house propagated coral fragments and have dedicated many of our reef aquariums to these animals.  Finding that rare gem coral in our $10 fragment tank happens often, just ask the locals!

How can Phishy Business say they consistently have the best quality and price?

Simple - first we work directly with collection facilities and divers around the world. Where most Pet Stores/Aquarium Stores buy from the normal supply chain through wholesalers in Los Angeles, we mostly do not. These Pet Stores and Aquarium Stores compete with each other for the inventory at the wholesale facilities. Secondly, we have traveled the globe and met with our suppliers directly, building lasting relationships. We have had the pleasure of touring many of their facilities throughout Indonesia and the Caribbean and have chosen the ones that we believe to be the best.

 Does Phishy Business have the same stock every week?

Absolutely not!  We receive weekly shipments from a variety of our suppliers.  Our web site only shows approximately 1/10 of our inventory.  It takes many hours to photograph and load pictures to the site and most items never make it to the web.  Many of the amazing, rare items that come in are purchased within days of arriving.  The average week at Phishy Business is two shipments which include one of corals and one of fish or invertebrates.  During the peak winter season it is normal to receive 3 or more shipments weekly. 

How can I be the first to know when Phishy Business receives a new shipment?

The best way is twofold. First, adding yourself to our email notification list by clicking here and secondly, becoming one of our Facebook friends.  We give updates every time a NEW shipment arrives or when we have sales or special events. Our email notification and Facebook page gives you the best opportunity to be the first to get that rare fish or coral.

Dry Goods Selection

We carry a large selection of beginner to high-end, advanced reef keeping equipment.  From the world famous GEO calcium reactors to necessities like Instant Ocean salt, you can find it at our store. These are just a hand full of brands we carry: ASM, GEO, Salifert, Marineland, Tunze, Eheim, RedSea, Tropic Marin, Pan World, Radium, Coral Vue, Hamilton, ATI, Ecotech and much more.  If you do not see what you are looking for while at our store, please ask our staff.  If an item is not it stock, we appreciate the opportunity to order it for you and supply all your equipment needs.

Aquarium Service and Maintenance

If you need a hand improving your current aquarium or want us to put up that 500 gallon reef aquarium for you - we can do it.  We have years of experience setting up everything from 5 gallon nano tanks to full blown reef keeping systems.  We have numerous resources for both equipment and stocking the rarest of animals.

Aquarium Club Visits

We want your aquarium club to come visit our store! Once a year, for aquarium clubs outside of the Columbus, Ohio area, we offer 25% off livestock to groups 10 or more when visiting our retail location. Registration is required prior to making your visit and some other restrictions may apply. Other discounts, sales, or coupons do not apply.
